Ordinance on responsibilities in the field of fishing and the fishing industry.

Decree restricting free fishing in coastal waters. Establishes rules regarding fishing in coastal waters and refers to the Fisheries Act 1963 as well as to the Ems Dollart Treaty.

Premium scheme for collected environmentally hazardous substances. Applies to packed hazardous substances which are lost at sea by ships or are fished in the Dutch territorial sea and EEZ. Awards premiums for the collection of those marine pollutants. The scheme applies to all Dutch fishing vessels, as well as all fishing vessels registered in one of the member states of the EEC and which are entitled to fish in the Dutch fishing zone.

Act on genetic modification.

Environmental Impact Assessment Act (UVPG). Defines conditions regarding the installation of aquaculture facilities.

Executive Order on fishing for and landing of mussels from the Wadden Sea. Refers to minimum sized for mussels, fishing time frame, landing conditions…

The Agreement was concluded under the auspices of the UN Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (Bonn Convention, CMS). The WSSA was the first daughter agreement concluded under CMS. The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS) acts as the secretariat of the WSSA. The WSSA contains provisions, amongst others, on research and monitoring, taking, protection of habitats and awareness.
The Seal Agreement is implemented by regular Seal Management Plans (SMP) by EG-Seals. (Latest version: 2018-2022 and refers to by-catch). SMP requires effort and objectives (to determine and reduce the number of seals caught as by-catch in fishing activities and ensure that seals do not drown in fyke nets).

Law on the National Park Wadden Sea Hamburg. Partly refers to the fisheries activities and its interaction with the environment. Refers to the Federal Nature Conservation Act and states the rules applying to those activities in the National Park.

Animal Health and Welfare Act. Refers to some extent to aquaculture. Refers to the Fisheries Act of 1963. Contains detailed requirements on the farming and processing of and trade in aquaculture animals and products

Has direct implications for marine aquaculture. Under the Convention, the Paris Commission (PARCOM) issued Recommendation 94/6 on Best Environmental Practice (BEP) for the Reduction of Inputs of Potentially Toxic Chemicals from Aquaculture

Establishes restrictions regarding anchoring near submarines cables and submarine pipelines. Refers to the Act on Safety of Navigation (repealed?). Applies to fisheries.

Contains general requirements for the issuing of detailed standards on packing, marking, labelling, documentation, stowage, quantity limitations, exceptions and notifications. For the purpose of this Annex, “harmful substances” are those substances which are identified as marine pollutants in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) or which meet the criteria in the Appendix of Annex III.

On the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora and especially certain species of fish and habitats which can be affected by specific fishing methods.

"The Torremolinos Protocol was adopted to update, amend and absorb the parent Convention. In the 2000s, IMO began reviewing the options available to tackle the lack of sufficient ratifications to bring this treaty into force. In 2012, a new agreement was adopted".

Ordinance on marketing standards for fishery products. The provisions of this regulation apply to the implementation of the regulations of the Council and the Commission of the European Communities on marketing standards that have been issued within the framework of the common market organization for fishery products and aquaculture products. Refers to Council Regulation (EC) No 2406/96.

Establishes "basic requirements on training, certification and watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel on an international level. The Convention prescribes minimum standards relating to training, certification and watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel, which countries are obliged to meet or exceed".

Aims "to promote long-term conservation and sustainable use of fisheries resources. The Code sets out principles and international standards of behavior for responsible practices with a view to ensuring the effective conservation, management and development of living aquatic resources, with due respect for the ecosystem and biodiversity. The Code recognizes the nutritional, economic, social, environmental and cultural importance of fisheries and the interests of all stakeholders of the fishing and aquaculture industries. The Code takes into account the biological characteristics of the resources and their environment and the interests of consumers and other users. It is a reference for the development of national legal frameworks regarding fisheries".

The Agreement "sets out principles for the conservation and management of those fish stocks and establishes that such management must be based on the precautionary approach and the best available scientific information. The Agreement elaborates on the fundamental principle, established in the Convention, that States should cooperate to ensure conservation and promote the objective of the optimum utilization of fisheries resources both within and beyond the exclusive economic zone".

Introduces additional conditions for year-to-year management of TACs and quotas.

Fishing law for the state of Schleswig-Holstein (State Fisheries Act - LFischG). This law regulates fishing in the coastal and inland waters of Schleswig-Holstein as well as fish production in special facilities.

Act on Exclusive Economic Zones. Defines the rights of the coastal state on waters until 400nm

Lays down common marketing standards for certain fishery products

Law on the Environmental Impact Assessment in Hamburg. Environmental Impact Assessments are mandatory for intensive fish farming with the introduction or discharge of substances into surface waters or coastal waters, the construction of fishing ports…

Amends Council Regulation (EC) No 2406/96 laying down common marketing standards for certain fishery products

Ordinance on the quality of fish and mussel waters (Fish and mussel water quality ordinance). Refers to the Hamburg Law on Water. Applies mostly in fresh waters but also to coastals water of the federal state.

Decree amending the Ships Decree 1965 and Fishing Vessels Decree (introduction of harmonized system of survey and certification)

Sets up a harmonised safety regime for fishing vessels of 24 metres in length and over. Refers to the Torremolinos Convention and Protocol as well as to the SOLAS Convention.

Ordinance on requirements for the discharge of wastewater into bodies of water. Concerns to some extent the fisheries products.

Order on grants for conversion in the fisheries sector (PESCA).

Fishing Vessel Registration Decree 1998. Refers to Article 24 of Regulation (EU) No 1380/2013, Regulation (EC) No 847/96 and Regulation (EC) 1224/2009.

Concerns the protection of animals kept for farming purposes including fish

Ordinance for the enforcement of the European Union's fisheries law. Refers to the Regulation (EC) No. 1984/2003, Regulation (EC) No. 1010/2009, Regulation (EC) 1224/2009, Regulation (EU) 404/2011, Regulation (EU) 1380/2013, Regulation (EU) 1395/2014, some regulations which are now repealed but were replaced by other EU Regulations (e.g. Regulation (EU) 2018/973).

Amends Decision 83/653/EEC on the allocation of the possibilities for catching herring in the North Sea as from 1 January 1984

Law for the Protection of Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea. Establishes some rules regarding fisheries and forbids some techniques or the fishing of specific species in some or all areas of the National Park. Refers to the Habitats Directive.
